Fashion Fights Polio

On Thursday March 19th 2009, the Rotaract Club proudly hosted Fashion Fights Polio: A night of enchantment held at the ambassador auditorium at the University of Windsor. Over 150 guests including fellow Rotarians, students, and other special guests including William Patchett our guest speaker for the night. Models were students and 2 professors from the University of Windsor; Susan Blight and Xavier Guittierez our professor models. Clothes were modeled from: The Bay, Melanie Lynn, J. Micheals, Laura, Hugo Boss, West 49, Urban Trade, Diva Boutique. Special thank you goes out to all our models for a fantastic job. The Rotaract club of Windsor (1918) was able to educate themselves and others about polio and what we can do to help fight it. Over $5000.00 was raised for the polio plus foundation in their efforts to eradicate polio in only 4 developing countries. On Friday April 17th 2009, our Club President Alex Kais and his sister Vice President of Rotaract presented a cheque for $5000.00 at the Polio Plus Dinner held in Southgate MI. President Alex presented the cheque to Rotary Internationals Immediate Past President Wilf Wilkinson. The presentation was received with a standing ovation. A huge congratulations goes out to all our sponsors and everyone who helped make this event a huge success. Congratulations to the Rotaract Club of Windsor (1918) the only Rotaract Club in the Windsor/Essex area!
